Celebrating 40 Years as the Parish Family of St. Colette
Forty years ago the dream of a parish in the Brunswick, Hinckley, Strongsville, North Royalton area began through the perseverance and hard work of Father Thomas Montavon and a small group of dedicated people. These original founders of the parish, teeming with drive and enthusiasm, laid the foundation for all that we have today. What was accomplished through faith, prayer and devotion is now a thriving, ever-growing Parish Family encompassing every age group and diversity. It is an enthusiastic parish centered on Eucharist and one that is faithfully confident in the love and boundless mercy of God.
I believe the hallmark of our parish is “gratitude.” We are a community that realizes, and appreciates, the sacrifices made by so many hands and hearts who labored to bring us this beautiful church building and all that this campus affords us.
As we move forward, we pray for God’s continued blessings. Through the intercession of St. Colette, may we be “church” - a family united in love, bound together in prayer a faith-filled People of God!
40th Anniversary Celebration
What is this 40th Anniversary Event we keep hearing about?
We finally have the details to share with you!
Mark your calendars for the 40th Anniversary celebration on Sunday, July 9th beginning at 5PM. The evening will start with mass at 5PM in the church with Abbot Gary Hoover and Father Krizner.
We will have a short break after mass, during which the congregation will be invited downstairs to the parish hall to watch our 40th Anniversary Video. We will be grilling hot dogs and hamburgers and will have popcorn as well for you to grab before the video begins.
Our original plans for the 9th included a concert, but we realized we were squeezing too much celebration into one night! With that in mind the July 9th Concert has been moved to our Opening Night at the Penny Carnival. By tradition this is the ‘Adult Night,' but, because we are doing the concert onJuly 28th the Carnival Adult Night is open to families, though the games will not officially open until Saturday. Music Ministry has puttogether songs reflecting the 40 years of St. Colette History—that’s right songs from the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s, the New Century to 2017! We promise a great time surrounded by the Penny Carnival Theme Booths celebrating AMERICA! PLEASE RSVP by calling the parish office! The Colonnade will be open for refreshments and you’ll have a first glance at the AAPC-2017!
These are truly events for everyone in our parish, no matter your age or how long you have been a parishioner. Join us for mass, give thanks to the Lord for the church we have today and then join us for a hot dog, learn some history of the church and enjoy some time with your parish family. Won’t you please consider joining us? All we need is an RSVP!
