Veritas+ teens and adults at Easter Sunday mass.

What’s it all about?

Veritas + means Truth.  The cross which follows the word signifies that the Truth is in Christ and that He is the Way, the Truth and the Life! Veritas+ is our youth group for teens 7th grade through high school. It’s a nice way to take time to give back to the Lord and surround yourself with teens who have the same beliefs as you.  We consider ourselves one big unconventional family where every member is unique in his or her own way.

What’s A Night at Youth group Like?

It begins with mass at 7:00pm where we all sit together in the section of pews closest to the lectern.

After mass we head downstairs for food.  Come hungry and leave full! The food is different every week so it’s always nice surprise!

If the weather is nice, we go outside and play different group activities from volleyball, to kickball to other fun games that get suggested.  In the winter, or when we can’t go outside, we find indoor games to play or we hang out in the teen room.  There’s a bunch of really comfy couches, a Wii, Xbox and a ton of video games as well as board games to play!

Then at about 8:40 we head into the church and sit near the tabernacle for prayer and a reflection song.

By 9:00 we are saying our good byes and heading back to our busy lives.

What volunteer opportunities are there?

Most of our events surround the church community.  We have several events that we do throughout the year with new ones being added and changed every year!

Right now our most prominent events are:

  • Fr. K's Amazing American Penny Carnival (last weekend of July)
  • Land of Happily Ever After (October)
  • The Little Christmas Village (December)
  • Stations of the Cross (Lent)

When we're not volunteering what do we do?

Part of being a youth group is growing together in our faith through fun activities both on and off the church property.

Some of the fun stuff we do are:

  • Haunted Houses
  • Tobogganing
  • Movie Nights
    • On campus and off campus
  • Winter Jam (Christian Music Concert)
  • Retreats
  • Akron Rubber Ducks Games
  • Going out for dinner
  • Holiday Parties
  • Going to see local plays and musicals
  • I-X Indoor Amusement Park
