Brothers in Faith Prayer Group

  • St. Colette Parish

Who are these Brothers in Faith anyway?   I heard they are a group of men who meet early Saturday morning in the atrium.

What do they do there? I heard they say the Rosary.

A Rosary...really? Yeah, they discuss the Sunday readings, talk some guy stuff, pray a little...

Guy stuff... Yeah, you know, like Brothers...

You know...I think I'll give it a shot...what about you?

St. Colette has teamed up with Easter Seals for a stuff the truck event with the Rummage Sale! A “stuff the truck” event is simply that; Easter Seals will leave a truck here for us to stuff with cloth material and other select items. These are items we cannot sell at the Rummage Sale but Easter Seals will gladly collect them and recycle them. So, as you are doing some winter cleaning and making boxes for the Rummage Sale, if there are items you feel are in bad shape and can’t be sold-simply put them in a box or a tied bag and label it “Easter Seals” and we will put it in the truck. You can bring these items when you drop off for the rummage sale or bring them the weekend of the sale (June 23-25). The truck will be parked outside the hall and ready to fill. Once the truck is filled we get a check based on the weight of the collected items and if we fill one truck Easter Seals will bring out another! The more trucks we fill and the more treasures we sell at the Rummage Sale, the more our youngest parishioners in Catholic school benefit. Please consider decluttering and helping us raise funds for Catholic Education!

Items accepted for Stuff the Truck: Stained or torn Cloth items (clothes, blankets, sheets, table cloths, purses, backpacks, towels, cloth lunchboxes and backpacks, etc.), gently used stuffed animals and Dishes/kitchenware (This includes small appliances such as mixers, blenders, crock pots, toasters, coffee pots, waffle makers, etc. NO MICROWAVES.) Small picture frames/wall hangings, Small kids’ toys/games, Knickknacks, Jewelry, CDs/DVDs/VHS tapes.

Items NOT Accepted for Rummage Sale or Stuff the Truck: TV’s, Computers and Christmas Trees. We will not be able to provide pick up of any items.

40th Anniversary Celebration

  • St. Colette Catholic Church

What is this 40th Anniversary Event we keep hearing about?

We finally have the details to share with you!

Mark your calendars for the 40th Anniversary celebration on Sunday, July 9th beginning at 5PM. The evening will start with mass at 5PM in the church with Abbott Gary Hoover, Father Krizner and a few special guests celebrating the mass. Immediately following mass we will show our 40th Anniversary Video on a screen in the church.

After the video, the congregation will be invited outside the atrium (weather permitting) for a picnic. We are asking that you would bring your own lawn chairs, blankets and snacks for your family to enjoy during the concert. We will provide grilled hamburgers and hot dogs free of charge. The concert will consist of “St. Colette History Through Song.” We will tell you about major points in our history and the Music Ministry will perform songs that were hits during that time.

This truly is an event for everyone in our parish, no matter your age or how long you have been a parishioner. Join us for mass, give thanks to the Lord for the church we have today and then join us for a hot dog, learn some history of the church and enjoy the music with your parish family. Won’t you please consider joining us? All we need is an RSVP!
