Weekend of 5/2 & 5/3

AN ABBOT UPDATE

It has been some time since we have seen Abbot Gary, OSB, here at St. Colette. I spoke with him this past week and he and the monks are carefully following the CDC rules and living their usual monastic lives of prayer and work.

Abbot has asked for prayers for his mother who, at the time of the phone call, was being tested for COVID19. She is presently in an Assisted Living Facility and holding her own. Please keep her, Dorothy Hoover, in your prayers. The Abbot sends his blessings to all!

Weekend of 5/9 & 5/10

DUCKS, TOO??

This was our Spring Garden which Ruthann Dolin planted for us last Fall. It was filled with Hyacinth, Tulips, and, yet to come, Lilies. It has been a refreshing and spectacular sight through these days of lockdown! And now it is being visited by two ducks. Welcome!

Weekend of 5/16 & 5/17

IT’S BEEN “RUFF”

“The project is going very well! Pounding, scraping, drilling, more pounding, plastic barriers, the smell of paint. Any more great ideas, Father?”

A BLESSED MEMORIAL DAY

What a privilege it is for us to be able to remember the men and women of our Nation’s history who gave their lives to preserve the freedom we enjoy today. It is our honor and our privilege to offer this day in testimony to the valiant sacrifices so very, very many made for the USA! No imagination can muster up what courage and bravery moved through the minds and hearts of those who fought for our liberty. There is no way to adequately repay them or thank them for their service other than being the best citizens that we can be: to love our country, to hold fast to the principles of our founders, to support our military and to be thankful that we live in the great nation of the United States of America. On this day pay honor and tribute to the fallen and respect and gratitude to those who presently serve!

God Bless America!

Weekend of 5/30 & 5/31

THOUGHTS FROM FR. K…

In the last few weeks how many drawers have you cleaned and reorganized?

How many times did you rearrange things in your home, in the garage, in a closet, or in the fridge?

How many times did you go to Marcs?

How many times did you watch the same news over and over again?

How many times did you find yourself bored over the same routines or the same meals?

How often did you ‘yell’ at the same ridiculous commercials on TV?

How often did you think it would never stop raining!

COVID19 is a lot more than a virus it’s been a curse to contentment & personal fulfillment!
